Harry Potter fans and LEGOmaniacs alike will love this highly involved recreation of Harry’s alma mater, Hogwarts School. The castle is a fairly intricate affair (it is a castle after all), but a clear set of instructions tells you exactly how to put together all 682 pieces. What makes this set so fun, and what will impress die-hard Harry followers, is the details: portraits revolve, owls dwell in the spires, and flames rise up from torches. An impressive number of characters are included: Harry himself, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, Professor Snape, Hagrid, and Professor Dumbledore. Of course, because the characters are all LEGOs, they all look sort of the same. With the sheer volume of material here, other Harry adventures, or adventures unrelated to the young wizard-in-training, are easy to create. — John Moe
